Senator Telfer says many are not well thought out.
More than 300 bills have been proposed in the current Special Session of the Legislature. Central Oregon Senator Chris Telfer and Representative Gene Whisnant say there is simply not enough time in a 30-day Special Session to thoughtfully consider all those bills. “People don't even have enough time to get over here and testify. The grass roots are even aware of some of the bills that are flying through here. It's ridiculous some of the bills we are getting. They are not well thought, lots of unintended consequences, it's a bad way to run a State.” Telfer says on the positive side, some of what she calls the bad legislation will simply die in committee because there is not enough time to fix them.
